Oestrogen detox: what it actually means

How your body clears used hormones and why it matters for PMS.

We work with women on hormonal health every day, and the articles here are grounded in that practice. You'll find naturopath-led writing on cycle tracking, oestrogen detox, mood, sleep, libido, and the herbs and supplements we genuinely reach for, including products like Herbs of Gold Wild Yam Cream, NaturoBest Womens, and the magnesium and B-complex formulas we use to support cycle regulation. If you've been dismissed before, this is the depth we'd want for you.

Frequently asked

Questions we hear in clinic

What are the most common signs of hormone imbalance?

Common signs include irregular or painful periods, mood changes around your cycle, fatigue that doesn't lift with rest, sleep disturbance, weight shifts, persistent acne, hair changes, low libido, and feeling unlike yourself in the lead-up to your period. Hormone imbalance rarely shows up as one symptom, it's usually a cluster.

What's the difference between perimenopause and menopause?

Perimenopause is the years leading up to your final period, often starting in your late 30s or 40s. Cycles become irregular, hormones swing, and symptoms like sleep disruption, mood changes and hot flushes can appear. Menopause is officially diagnosed once you've gone twelve months without a period. The biggest changes often happen during perimenopause, not after.

What does a fertility naturopath actually do?

We assess the full picture: your cycle, your nutrient status, your stress and sleep, your gut, your thyroid, your partner's health if relevant, and any underlying conditions like PCOS or endometriosis. From there we build a plan that addresses the actual barriers, rather than just adding another supplement on top.

Can men benefit from a fertility naturopath too?

Absolutely. Sperm quality contributes to roughly half of all conception outcomes, and lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation make a real difference. Male fertility support is a regular part of how we work with couples.
