Preparing your body for pregnancy

Practical groundwork most prenatal supplements skip.

The articles here are grounded in our clinical practice. We work with fertility clients every week, and we draw on the herbs, nutrients and supplements we genuinely use and trust. That includes products like the NaturoBest preconception range, Eius Fertility, and the Cell Squared organ meats we recommend for nutrient density. Wherever it helps, we link directly to the products and services we recommend, so you have a clear next step to take.

Frequently asked

Questions we hear in clinic

How long should I prepare my body before trying to conceive?

We typically recommend a minimum of three to four months of preconception care, since that's roughly how long it takes for an egg to mature from its earliest stages through ovulation. Six months is even better if you have time, particularly if you're coming off the pill, recovering from depletion, or working with a known fertility challenge.

Can naturopathy work alongside IVF?

Yes, and we do this often. Naturopathic care doesn't replace your fertility specialist, it supports the body around the medical pathway. That usually means optimising nutrient status, managing stress and sleep, supporting egg and sperm quality in the lead-up to a cycle, and reducing inflammation. We always work in collaboration with your fertility team.

What does a fertility naturopath actually do?

We assess the full picture: your cycle, your nutrient status, your stress and sleep, your gut, your thyroid, your partner's health if relevant, and any underlying conditions like PCOS or endometriosis. From there we build a plan that addresses the actual barriers, rather than just adding another supplement on top.

Can men benefit from a fertility naturopath too?

Absolutely. Sperm quality contributes to roughly half of all conception outcomes, and lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation make a real difference. Male fertility support is a regular part of how we work with couples.
