Naturopath-led recipes for everyday wellbeing

Reviewed by the naturopathic team at Nourishing Apothecary, led by Jaime Chew.

Our recipes are written for everyday wellbeing. Some are quietly therapeutic, like a slow-simmered bone broth for the gut. Some are for energy. Some are simply nourishing food we cook in our own kitchens. They draw on the foods we recommend in clinic and the rhythms we know support women, families and busy weeks.

BREAKFAST

Coconut pancakes for slow weekend mornings

Light, naturally sweet and quietly nutrient-dense. The breakfast our families ask for

LUNCH

An easy buddha bowl that works for meal prep

A flexible, customisable lunch built around fresh vegetables and good fats.

SWEET TREAT

A creamy custard that quietly supports your gut

Comfort food that does the work of restoring your gut lining.

SNACK

Peanut butter cacao cups, no refined sugar

A no-bake sweet treat made with whole ingredients and nothing you can't pronounce.

The recipes here are grounded in our clinical practice. We share the foods we cook ourselves and recommend most often: gut-supportive broths, organ meat preparations that don't taste like organ meats, sweet treats made with real ingredients and the occasional naturopath-friendly twist on a family favourite. Wherever it helps, we link to the pantry essentials we actually use.

Frequently asked

Cooking with us

What kind of recipes will I find here?

A mix. Some are nutrient-dense and quietly therapeutic, like our slow-simmered bone broths and gut-healing custards. Some are everyday family food. Some are sweet treats made with whole ingredients. They're written from a naturopathic lens but they're not clinical: they're meant to be cooked, eaten and enjoyed.

Are these recipes suitable for kids?

Many of them, yes. Where a recipe is particularly good for little tummies, we'll say so. As always, if your child has specific dietary needs, allergies or feeding challenges, check with your GP, paediatrician or our team before introducing new foods.

Where do you source ingredients?

Where it matters, we'll name the brands we use ourselves. Bone broth from Best of the Bone. Organ meats from Cell Squared. Salts, oils and the basics we trust to do the foundational work. You'll find most of them in our shop.

Can I substitute ingredients if I don't have something?

Yes, and we'll often note the most common substitutions in the recipe itself. Bone broth recipes are forgiving. Baking is less so. If you're new to cooking from a naturopathic angle, follow the recipe through once before swapping things out.
